As the election wound down and the sun began to set, Mr. Sanchez ducked away from the festivities to change into evening attire. He re-emerged decked out in a dusky pink hat, a light pink suit and a pink-and-white candy-stripe bowtie. Riding in the back of a vintage convertible, he waved to fans, shook hands with supporters and posed for photos.
